Killdeer Area Storm Relief Fund
The North Dakota Community Foundation (NDCF) has established a Killdeer Area Storm Relief Fund to assist organizations and individuals affected by the recent storm event in Killdeer.
Individuals and businesses that would like to donate to the fund can donate online here, or mail your check made out to "North Dakota Community Foundation" with "Killdeer Area Storm Relief Fund" in the memo line to:
North Dakota Community Foundation
PO BOX 387
Bismarck, ND 58502
All gifts to the Killdeer Area Storm Relief Fund are tax-deductible as charitable contributions. NDCF will waive its usual management fees so 100% of gifts will go to the disaster response (online credit card donation fees still apply). You will receive a tax receipt from NDCF for your gift.
A committee of local citizens will recommend grant awards from the fund to help the community recover. Some of the funds may be granted to the Lutheran Social Services Unmet Needs Committee, which provides direct assistance to individuals.
If you would like to apply for assistance: the process to seek help is the same system as the 2014 flood response in Dunn County. A local Unmet Needs Committee will be established by Lutheran Social Services Disaster Response for approving possible home repair assistance for homeowners impacted by the recent storm but who do not have sufficient resources for recovery. After insurance and all other resources are exhausted, verified storm-caused unmet needs will be presented anonymously to the Unmet Needs Committee by the Lutheran Social Services Disaster Response case manager.
If you or someone you know needs assistance with storm-caused unmet needs, applications are available at the Dunn County Auditor's office or download the application at www.lssnd.org/2016DunnCounty.html
Questions about making a donation should be directed to the NDCF main office at 701-222-8349.
Thank you for your concern for our fellow North Dakotans!
