Michael D. Wehri Scholarship

Fund Background: Established by Michael’s parents, Dean and Kristen Wehri, shortly after his death in a tragic farm accident at the age of 19, the Michael D. Wehri Memorial Fund will assist students from Mott, ND to continue their education and will support local programs and projects that Michael participated in while he was growing up.

Michael Wehri was involved in many activities in Mott-Regent school. He competed in state competitions in music, theater, speech and FFA. He was constantly pushing himself to learn. It is due to these interests that his family has decided to offer two $1,000 college scholarships to graduates of Mott-Regent High School.

Eligibility Requirements: One scholarship will be available to an individual that is pursuing an associates or bachelors degree in agriculture. High school involvement in FFA is encouraged, but not required. The second scholarship is available to all college degree fields. Preference points will be granted to individuals that have been involved in any of the following: speech, drama, band and choir. Students may apply for both scholarships, but are limited to receiving only one. The scholarships will be awarded at the start of the recipient’s second college semester. Recipients must provide a copy of their end of first semester grades prior to receiving the money.

Applications accepted January 1 - April 1 only. Applications received outside of this window will NOT be accepted.
