Fred & Henrietta Kerian Memorial Scholarship

Fund Background: The fund was established in 2001 in memory of Fred and Henrietta Kerian by their family. Fred and Henrietta farmed north of Minto, ND. Prior to moving to the Minto area, Fred was a practicing barber and Henrietta taught elementary school. Both showed a love for learning, an appreciation for the arts, and the importance of good citizenship. These valued qualities were passed on to their seven children. They were proud that each of their children completed high school and college. They also encouraged others to further their education and to live life to the fullest. It is a dream of the family that this commitment to education be continued by offering an annual scholarship in their name to a student from the Minto area.

Eligibility Requirements: The scholarship will assist a student from the Minto High School in post-secondary education, either in a trade school or college setting. Factors to be considered in the selection process include, without priority, high personal character, musical achievement, strong interest in post-secondary education, financial need and a minimum of a 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 = “A” scale.

Applications accepted January 1 - April 1 only. Applications received outside of this window will NOT be accepted.
