Josephine Garnett Miller Scholarship

Fund Background: The fund was established in 1987 in memory of Josephine Garnett Miller by her family. The Garnetts are an historic North Dakota family. Anthony Garnett first came to North Dakota in 1879 when the state was still a territory. He looked over the area and decided to relocate the family from Ontario, Canada in 1881 and St. Thomas became their homestead location. Harrison Garnett, Josephine's father, became one of the strong political and social forces, whose faith in the new State of North Dakota, helped shape its early years.

Eligibility Requirements: The scholarship will assist a graduating senior from St. Thomas High School who might have difficulty in attending a post secondary institution. The award will be made in the fall of each year and must be used for tuition at any institution of higher education in North Dakota.

Applications accepted January 1 - April 1 only. Applications received outside of this window will NOT be accepted.
