Jean E. Crabtree Memorial Scholarship

Fund Background: The Jean E. Crabtree Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2000 by her family and friends. Ms. Crabtree was valedictorian of the Ellendale High School Class of 1933. Her Bachelors degrees were earned in English and Library Science at the University of North Dakota and Columbia University, New York respectively. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Her entire career was dedicated to the education of young people. She was an educator, librarian, world traveler, adventurer, and connoisseur of theater and art.

Eligibility Requirements: Graduating seniors from Ellendale High School may apply for the scholarship. Students must display the characteristics of self-motivation, respect for others, honesty, and dependability. Service to school and community as well as financial need shall be considered. The student must have a GPA of 2.50 on a 4.00 = A scale. The recipient will show enthusiasm for learning and appreciation for literature and the fine arts.

Applications accepted January 1 - April 1 only. Applications received outside of this window will NOT be accepted.
