William Born Memorial Scholarship

Fund Background: The William Born Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1979 by his parents in memory of William Born. The 1977 St. Thomas High School Valedictorian was a victim of an automobile accident in October 1977 while he was a student at the University of North Dakota. The Born family established the endowment fund so that other young people graduating from St. Thomas High School might have financial assistance in attending college.

Eligibility Requirements: The scholarship will assist graduating seniors from St. Thomas High School. The Selection Committee will include the school superintendent, the president of the school board, and a third party chosen by the first two. The award is to be made prior to the second semester of college.
